Wing/Strut Fairings

Post by xprsav8r »

Happy new year, everyone.

I have an S90 that I purchased a few years back. It’s been flying great. One thing it never had were wing/strut fairings. Is this unusual? If your plane does have a fairing where the main struts enter the wing, can you please share some pictures? I’m not sure where to acquire something like that now that CAT is gone, but I may try and modify some off-the-shelf part.

Thanks!

Happy New Year. Hopefully 2022 will be better than 2020/2021.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you talking about where the wings attach to the fuselage?

Hi Joe,
No, not the wing root fairing. I’m asking if there’s a fairing available that prevents wind from entering the wing where the rear landing struts come out of the wing.

Thanks,
Roger

I guess your gear is different than the one piece aluminum gear I have. I've never see any flaring of any kind for main gear. You could make one without much trouble. Since it would not be load bearing you could use any fiber glass cloth and polyester resin (auto store).
