He owns the company! Wonder why he doesn't finish it?

CAT sold the Express design and assets to a Chinese company. Everything got packed up, including the remaining demo, stuffed in a container and shipped to China. I wonder if it is the same group that purchased the Glassair assets. Are they going for vinyl ester domination?

Well that's disappointing. Know he was a small operation, but I guess getting new parts that were specific to the design will be even more challenging now.

What the heck would a Chinese company want with the express. There is nothing novel about it. Back in 89 when the CT first came out it was the only experimental 4 place on the market. It was stylish and all but now days not unique. Maybe they think they can make a trainer out of it or something. The documentation is terrible. CAT never seemed to fix that. Who knows how valid the cad files are. Where all the design files updated with the current drawings and changes?

I wonder if this was the same Chinese company that bought the Glassair designed assets? Then they would have 2 seater and 4 seater vinyl ester products with similar designs.

CAT had no cad files, only forms and plugs.

Could be the same company. From a news article on the Glassair sale:

Fang has formed Glasair Aviation USA LLC as the new operating entity for Glasair. He plans to invest “substantially” in Glasair’s product lines, including the Glasair, Glastar and popular Sportsman design. Fang plans to grow Glasair Aviation USA by acquiring and consolidating additional airframe designs and other aviation companies.

It looks like Feng sold in 2017 to these guys in Arlington, WA:
https://advanced-aero.com/

Hopefully those folks picked it up or Feng, both are in Arlington which, is cool as my new hangar for the Express is being built at Arlington.
