Legacy nose gear collapsing - other misc tips

Post by 282ex »

Spent the day with Darrell today from Composite Aircraft Technology - Express. One of the common issues customers are seeing has to do with legacy nose gear collapsing. If you have a legacy nose gear, strongly recommend the upgraded nose gear (http://compairtechllc.com/Nose_Gear.asp). It seems the legacy struts had some weld issues and the tubes (see attachments). Darrell has some in stock now.

$2700. Well worth it and highly recommended. The old one will literally snap. You’ll find preemptively replacing it will be cheaper than suffering a bent prop and ending going through a sudden stoppage inspection!
