Mockup with rigid insulation foam

I needed to do a couple of mock ups of some parts for a console and found that the 1/2 rigid foam insulation board you can get at Home Depot or Lowes works very well. It's not as messy as styrofoam. HD here were I live sells the 1/2 4x8 sheets for about 10 bucks. Easy to cut with a utility knife and...

Here is a video you might find interesting of express CT stalls and testing vortex generators.

Re: linear actuator for flaps

Reinhard, Welcome to the new forum. Glad to have you here. Notice from the pictures on the web site you swapped out your panel with some new Gramin and GRT gear. How do you like the new setup? How many hours on the plane now? Also, any other pictures or guidance you could share on the flap installat...

Re: Registration and bill of sale

EAA had their trailer at south by southwest this weekend in Austin. I asked them and they did not know the answer but said they would find out and get back to me. Asking for a bill of sale on a bunch of kit parts is beyond me and makes no sense. I think someone in a cube in OK city needed to justify...

Re: airspeed indicator and flap torque tubes

My wing is the original NLF (1989). I have the flap torque tubes from Larry. This set up has the outboard torque tube inboard of rib R, original flap p/p tube location. I'm having trouble visualizing how I'm going to be able to install or take the outboard section out of a closed wing. Just looking ...

Registration and bill of sale

Anyone have any insight on this bill of sale issue and defunct kit makers. This rule change came about after the original Wheeler went out of business. I remember some time ago it came up at a FAA forum at Sun-N-Fun but I do not remember the details. On the FAA site it says, in part, about EAB regis...

Re: Rib J

I've been researching this also. Having done the install after the wing was closed was a real pain. I dont see why we cannot re-arrange the layup schedule so you put in the outboard layups of the aft shear web and rib R with a false skin. Then you can do the inboard side and finally put in the gear....

Re: linear actuator for flaps

Would someone please share how fast your flaps deploy and retract. I'm looking at some of the speeds on these actuators. The spec sheets for the LA14 at 12V, fast pitch, 700N force will move about 15mm per second. 4 inches would be 101.6mm so lets just call it 100. 100/15 is 6.7 seconds. Is this any...

Re: Pedal

You might try Composite Aircraft Tech (wheeler factory now)

I would call them as they dont seem to answer much email. The rudder mounts have changed some but I think the rudder pedals are the same.
