Re: Oshkosh 2019

http://www.ackavionics.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/E-04_REV_1.8_SINGLE_PAGE.pdf Has some info on making a ground plane. I did a similar setup and put the elt just aft of aft cabin bulkhead (sta 162 I think it is). Cold front today - only 97F. It's Texas mid August - gets this hot every year. I do...

Re: Oshkosh 2019

Plane is going very slow right now. That pesky work thing having to pay the bills keeps getting in the way. Plus been to hot to work out in the shop. It's insulated but still sits in the mid 90s on a hot day. 2 or 3 more weeks and it will start cooling off at night and I can get back out there. I've...

More Documents and News Letters

I have scanned the Wheeler and EDI news letters and some builder correspondence from Wheeler. Phil Thomas has uploaded them to https://express-builder.com/documents/newsletters. A BIG thanks to Phil for getting these uploaded to the site. Of interest to some of you may be the information on the &quo...

Re: Tail documents

Just for fun I used the WB spread sheet for N49EX (Reinhard Metz's CT). I upped the GW in the sheet to 3200#. Using his real world numbers from the spread sheet: Pilot/CoPilot both 250lb 2 passengers both 200lb 50 lb of luggage 300lb of fuel and the plane is still within the cg range. It's almost th...

Express Aircraft Steel Landing Gear SB - Jan 31,1998

FYI
Found this SB in my pile of documents. Relates to the inboard (Rib J) attach fitting and failures with the steel landing gear.

Tail documents

I was looking back through the 3 ring binders of invoices, new letters and bankruptcy notices and came across these 2 documents that might be useful to folks new to the express. I'm not advocating for or against the CT. Full disclosure I'm building a CT model. Over the years there has been a lot of ...

New to Express - Look in old forum

If you are new to the Express and looking for information I suggest you look through the old forum. On this board, page 3 at last count, there is a topic "Old Forum". Go there and follow the links and you can find old messages. Everything from landing gear to cowl flaps.

Re: Increased MGW

I'm not sure where I found the Express Link news letter scans. I have hard copies somewhere but I did not scan them. I could upload the files I have. I'm not sure if the scans are for all of them. The IO-360 KB says it's rated for 195hp and 2600 rpm. The gear legs will handle #3200 but that does not...

Re: Increased MGW

Page 1 and continued on page 2 of the Copeland news letter No. 26, Nov 2001 talks about the increased GTW with the AL legs. If you cannot get or open the attachment message me and I'll send you the file. This article is straight from Larry Olsen when he was running things. You need to validate you h...
