Mockup with rigid insulation foam

Postby jchisolm » Fri Apr 07, 2017 3:49 pm

I needed to do a couple of mock ups of some parts for a console and found that the 1/2 rigid foam insulation board you can get at Home Depot or Lowes works very well. It's not as messy as styrofoam. HD here were I live sells the 1/2 4x8 sheets for about 10 bucks. Easy to cut with a utility knife and sands OK. Once you are happy with the template you can transfer it to your expensive foam and also use it mark the cloth. I have not found any 1/4 inch product but it's pretty easy to adjust your dimensions when you cut the expensive stuff if you only need 1/4 core.
