Re: POH Vne 204kts why are some 230kts

I have descended out of 12k feet at 200 knots with no flutter in my CT. I have turned final at 159 and made the numbers at 75 too with no flutter, no adverse handling issues at all.

Re: airspeed indicator and flap torque tubes

The linear actuator used in the 2000 was the convertible top motor for a volvo 2 seater convertible. About $300. I used a simple 150 lb capacity linear actuator like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Inch-Linear-Actuator-Stroke-225-Pound-Lift-12V-Volt-DC-Mounting-Brackets-/251701066050?hash=item3a9a8d7...

Re: New builder Express CT

In don't have a spare set of tips, but I do have a set not yet mounted that could be copied. If you are patient, I could make a mold from mine and make a set.
They come in 2 pieces, not to difficult to make or copy.

Re: Antenna Tips

On one plane I have the Piper pitot/static port combo. It reads low indicated but the pitot is on the front of it and the static is on the back. On the other plane I installed static ports behind the baggage door that I put in - essentially about 12" behind the bulkhead one on each side and tie...

Re: alulinium rudder

I would think that .032 6061 T6 would be plenty strong with a spar from .050 or better and 2 ribs plus top and bottom. Would be much lighter. I have the opposite issue, with one or 2 people (back seats empty) I have to carry 70 lbs of ballast in the baggage area to make the plane lighter in pitch. W...

Re: Antenna Tips

The transponder antenna must be mounted outside with some shielding between you and it. It operates on 1090 mhz, which is in the microwave band. Mine is in the center of the fuse directly underneath the box behind the firewall. This keeps the transponder antenna lead short for lower losses. I have a...

Re: Compass location

I like the vertical card compass- it more closely matches the HSI or DG. There are small compasses that meet FAA requirements, or you can install it in the panel in an empty hole. Be aware of the electrical or radios in close proximity to the compass that might render it useless.

Re: Body Fairings.. Seat Sliders.

The fairings can be glassed in to the wings and then sealed to the fuse, or they can be glassed to both surfaces. I prefer the first so that if I need to remove the wings ( I have had to do this) you don't have to take a saw to the airplane. I can have my wings off and the whole thing on a trailer i...

Re: Body Fairings.. Seat Sliders.

For those getting ready to install their seats, I recommend using something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Linear-Actuators-4-inch-with-Brackets-Stroke-225-Pound-Max-Lift-12-Volt-DC-/320978617127?hash=item4abbd10327:m:mmpy1uD1i_zEACz-P14AolQ . The seats are notoriously hard to adjust with the m...

Re: alulinium rudder

You could make an aluminum rudder. Just need a spar, fab some ribs and rivet it together.

My guess is that you are needing help with the design?
