Re: nose gear suspension

I think it should be the doughnut shown in the manual. I'm not sure where wheeler got them. I dont think they were custom built. Mine is in a box some where. When I find it I'll look for a part number. Hopefully someone else on here knows the answer.

Re: nose gear suspension

Look in this section and find the message about "folder of documents" or something like that. Look around and you will find some of the 2000 docs. I'm not sure if the original CT docs have the install procedure. Here is a direct link to the 2000 doc that may give you some help. http://www....

I think you will have a problem finding the tail parts. The old Composite Air was sold. I dont know what the part status would be.

Re: New owner of a project.

As far as I know you will need a different engine mount for a IO-540. I think the specs call for thrust line 1.5deg right and zero down. Maybe someone on here could point you to someone that might be able to make it. I am tracing ribs and various parts I have to I will have templates in case I need ...

Re: New owner of a project.

The wings should be pre-2000 model wings. You can make the control horns out of some AL sheet. I'm not sure of the thickness but I'll measure when I have time. The flap torque tubes can be fabricated. You can probably find a local welding shop or machine shop that can make them. The bearing holders ...

Re: Saw this on Barnstormers today.

Could be the same company. From a news article on the Glassair sale: Fang has formed Glasair Aviation USA LLC as the new operating entity for Glasair. He plans to invest “substantially” in Glasair’s product lines, including the Glasair, Glastar and popular Sportsman design. Fang plans to grow Glasai...

Re: Saw this on Barnstormers today.

What the heck would a Chinese company want with the express. There is nothing novel about it. Back in 89 when the CT first came out it was the only experimental 4 place on the market. It was stylish and all but now days not unique. Maybe they think they can make a trainer out of it or something. The...

Removing wings

Have any of you had to remove your wings after you did your fly off? I'm just wondering how difficult it was to get the pins out. What did you do about the wing root flaring? When you put them back on how did you repair/re-do the flaring? What about paint cracking on the flaring? Is there enough fle...
