Re: 2000 RG questions

You are welcome. Those are just points from what I have learned. I watch many of the builder channels on youtube. A lot of these guys are airline or emt or retired where they have consecutive blocks of days off to work on the project. Juggling daily work, family, house hold chores and other things c...

Re: 2000 RG questions

I'll add a few things. My express CT has been a work in progress for years. I bought my first set of wings back in 1989. The project sat for many years. I was not happy with my wing construction so I was able to pick up another wing kit about 5 years ago. It's still a work in progress. I've been thr...

Re: Source for 40# foam?

I got some from the glasair folks. They did not have the 1/4 stuff I needed. I think they only had 1/2 - it's been a while. Very nice folks, was able to order online but you can call them. I dont have a number handy but just look them up. If you just need a small qty you might try general plastics a...

Re: Upper gear fairing attachment

I would not go drilling into the spar cap, you will cut the UD fibers. For many of the flaring attachments I'm looking into using 3M VHB tapes.

Re: Prop overhaul

Thanks for the info. There are a couple of shops in San Antonio I've looked up. About 1.5 hour drive for me. Dallas is another option but that's about 3.5 to 4 hours.

Needle bearing seals

The flap hardware I got from Larry and the Compair flap hardware use J1812 and J1616 needle bearings but there is no seal. Granted these bearings dont have a lot of rotational load on them but they need to be lubricated. Anyone have info on what lube? Seems to me sitting in a hot hangar for days the...

Re: Tire pressure

Same tire I think as on the RV-10 - 15x6.00-6
I found this item

http://www.vansairforce.com/community/a ... 47483.html

Says 68 for the mains on a RV-10
Another chart says 45 for 4ply and 68 for 6ply

Prop overhaul

Years ago as I was gathering engine, gov, prop, etc I got a 3 blade McCauley prop from Larry Olsen. It came off a 182 - B3D32C407/82NDA. Larry did not send me the prop log book. He was going to, I did not push him as I was not gonna install any time soon and then Larry got killed. The log book is no...
