Pitot Static

For those of you still building or thinking of upgrading: I'm installing Garmin G3x Touch. I was looking for push-to-connect tubing and fittings for my pitot, static and AOA. Stein Air was one place many RV builders mentioned. And of course McMaster-Carr. I came across Automation Direct www.automati...

Re: Wing/Strut Fairings

I guess your gear is different than the one piece aluminum gear I have. I've never see any flaring of any kind for main gear. You could make one without much trouble. Since it would not be load bearing you could use any fiber glass cloth and polyester resin (auto store).

Re: Wing/Strut Fairings

Happy New Year. Hopefully 2022 will be better than 2020/2021.

I'm not sure I understand your question. Are you talking about where the wings attach to the fuselage?

Re: Flaps setting

Standard CT express with NLF wing. Do any of you use reflex in cruise (I think it's -10 or something like that)? If so, does it help your cruise?

Re: 3D printers for testing part fit

I'm not sure what the strength of a bond would be glassing directly to the 3D part. I'll have to try it. Here are a couple of videos on using a 3D printed part for molds or direct layup over the part. BTW: this channel has some pretty good instructional videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpJdwry...

Re: 3D printers for testing part fit

I also should mention that the parts are actually pretty strong. I've seen reports where they pull test items and they get around 180-200 lbs. If you need a small trim piece or a switch knob or say a "custom" switch handle you can design and print your own. The down side is, for PLA filame...

3D printers for testing part fit

I got one of those $200 3D printers off Amazon. I've been using it to "print" parts so I can check for fit. This works well for small parts you might be having to build or machine or get machined. In the past I would use insulating foam panels from the big box stores. This is kind of OK fo...

AN bolts/nuts/washers

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com

They have a pretty good selection and competitive prices. Reasonable cost on shipping.

Not affiliated in any way. Needed some AN7 bolts and they were 1/2 price of Aircraft Spruce on the size I needed.

Re: Express 2000RG

I'm not sure you will find much on the RG. There are some example POH, WB and such in the documents section. You will need to adjust based on your actual W&B. There may also be a condition inspection list example there. I have not looked in a long time. As far as strut service docs you may be ab...
