Re: IO 540 Injection Tubes

Wow! Glad that turned out ok! I remember reading that SB and making sure it was complied with back when we had our Express Series 90 and its IO-540. Didn't realize there was still risk even after that all was done.

You should be able to PM now, John. The system keeps new users on a bit of a short leash until they’ve had several interactions but I manually updated your account.

Re: Saw this on Barnstormers today.

Well that's disappointing. Know he was a small operation, but I guess getting new parts that were specific to the design will be even more challenging now.

Re: Jack Point

When I replaced the tire on ours I placed the jack under the main spar close to the fuselage. I also placed a 2x4 on top of the jack piston to spread the load out a bit.

Re: Wing to fuselage fuel line connections

Here's a few pics of the fuel lines on ours. We've got the Lycoming IO-540-K so the fuel return line isn't used.

Re: More main landing gear issues

Sorry, Joe, today was the first day I've been back to the airport to get pics for you. We have the aluminum gear and our brackets don't have the space on the side as yours do. Hope this helps you.

Re: More main landing gear issues

Joe,

If the weather is good this weekend I'm planning on going to the airport to fly. I have the aluminum gear on my Express so while there I'll take a pic of the bracket on mine to see how it compares to what you have.

Re: Wing to fuselage fuel line connections

Hey Joe, I don't have any pictures right now, but on our plane the hard lines come into the fuselage from the wing a few inches and then go to a stainless braided hose which connects to the fuel selector valve below the instrument panel between the seats. I'll do my best to take pictures the next ti...

That's great to have an A&P in the family! Especially one familiar with Experimentals. Post some pics once ya'll get the panel upgrades done or the new paint. Always nice to see pics for inspiration of updates folks have done to their Express.
