Re: Buying my 1st express.

I land my CT almost exactly like I do a Cirrus. 100 in downwind, 90 on base, 80 on final, cross the numbers at 75 and touchdown at 65 to 70. It’s easy. I’m in the Nashville area and give transition training almost everywhere.

Re: Tire pressure

Inflate the nose tire until you have about 4 inches on the tarmac. Too much pressure will lead to shimmy.

The prop shop will go through it and check the parts for OH, a complete OH will come with a new book. No issues.

Level it at the door sill and across the spar carry through. An alternate is the firewall- it should be plumb when the plane is level.

Re: Boarding assist handles

Go to Lowes or Home Depot, in the cabinet hardware section you can find some nice aluminum handles. The screws are not huge, so build up the mount area with 3 or 4 layers of glass and use a washer on the back side. Get the big ones, and mount it in line with the slipstream. Re: CT Electric flap

What do you mean electric flap system? All of them have some type of linear actuator, early ones are a Volvo convertible top motor, some like me used an alternate system. Are you talking about the pot that tells you how far down the flaps are?

Re: New member, familiarization

I am in Nashville, I can fly over and take a look at it. You can call me at 239-896-7576. I can do the test Flying too if you like. Let me know when you want to schedule a day up there.
What Airport would I land at.

Re: New member, familiarization

The Express isn’t difficult to fly, and it doesn’t have any bad habits. The IO 360 models are cheap to operate, the IO 540 models go faster but bu4n more fuel. Most models carry more fuel than is usually needed, and it’s range will outlast most bladders. I can keep going, if you want more info just ...

Re: Rib R?

I added 6 additional plies of cloth to each side of the original rib, with the ends lapping onto the spars. With the heavier gear bracket it has held up well.
